Every day hundreds of homes are inspected across the USA by our employee inspectors. We want to recognize the work they do and allow you to become more familiar with the U.S. Inspect home inspectors you may encounter. Meet Patrick Belcherfrom our Hartford, CT area home Inspection team.

Pat Belcher PortraitTell our readers what you like most about being a home inspector?"I like building on an experience base regarding the cause and effect of the issues impacting the performance of a building structure."

What might we find you doing when not inspecting houses?"Reading. I enjoy reading about politics and current events, as well as Russian literature from the 1800’s to 1930’s."

Who or what inspires you most in your life?  "The writings of M. A. Bulgakov and P. D. Ouspensky.

Tell us your favorite quote? Favorite music? Favorite activity?"'Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. (George Santayana)  As for music, I like folk, blues, and jazz. Other activities I enjoy are collecting classic films and drawing original designs for energy efficient buildings in 3D CAD."

Are there any dislikes you’d care to share?"People who vote without a basic knowledge of civics, the issues or the candidates.

Is there anything else you’d like our audience to know about Pat?"My last construction project in 1998 is what I'm most proud of. It was a 22,000 square foot hydroponic greenhouse tomato farm that produced 300,000 lbs. of tomatoes in an eight month growing season. It was computer controlled and automated. I learned a great deal about heating, cooling, ventilation, and the implications of humidity control.

Can you list personal awards you’d like people to know about?"I completed a course of study and passed the test for CABO (Council of American Building Certification) code certification in 1997 and became a member of SBCCI (Southern Building Code Congress International)."
